Many of us have the freedom to dream of what our future might be. We have been fortunate to be raised with the right to pursue an education, the right to physical recreation, and the right to artistic expression. The access to resources that allow us to turn our dreams into realities is a luxury we may often take for granted. For 30 million people around the world, these basic human rights are being denied. Human trafficking removes the freedom to choose one’s own destiny and by way of physical, mental and sexual abuse, forces victims to perform services for the financial benefit of another. For those who are fortunate enough to escape, the ability to move forward is fraught with obstacles. This is the face of modern-day slavery.
The Not For Sale “2011 Free2Play Tour” seeks to educate the public on the innovative solutions that have been developed and deployed around the world that are working to make slavery history. We seek to mobilize passionate and creative individuals to join the movement and share their passions and their skills to help provide necessary resources to ensure a future for those who are trapped in slavery. Together we can help ensure that everyone is given the right to dream big and to act with the power of autonomy. Because every child should be free to play.
