“Justice for the Bottom Billion” | The Movement Gathers

The date for the 2012 Not For Sale Global Forum has been set! Mark your calendars for November 1st & 2nd to attend the premiere conference exploring effective and innovative strategies for stemming the tide of human trafficking worldwide. Hosted annually by Not For Sale since 2009, the Global Forum has served as a major catalyst for mobilizing an international modern-day abolitionist movement. Click Here to Register

Through two days of engaging panel discussions, impactful presentations, facilitated networking, and artistic performances, attendees are invited to contribute their own ideas, interact with experts, and discuss new ways of thinking about how to solve a global injustice. The event has been described as, “the thought leadership of TED talks meeting the innovation of an Apple product launch to transform the social justice space.”

Last year’s Global Forum focused strongly on the theme, “Where Freedom Meets Innovation” and featured prominent leaders in the trafficking movement such as, Mira Sorvino, UN Goodwill Ambassador & Academy Award Winner, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Mike McCarthy, Senior Vice-President of CNN International, and Jack Dorsey, Co-founder of Twitter and Founder of Square.

The 2011 conference brought about tangible solutions to one of the most problems of our day. Highlights included the partnership between Not For Sale and AllSaints Spitalfields to transform AllSaints’ supply chain and empower survivors of trafficking; launch of the brand REBBL Tea, which stems the tide of trafficking in the Peruvian Amazon; unveiling of the award-winning mobile phone application Free2Work, that informs users on how they are connected to forced labor through the products they purchase; and the announcement of EMPOWER, an engagement tool for the “everyday abolitionist” that provides users with the most effective actions they can personally take to end slavery.

This year’s Global Forum will be held in the heart of Silicon Valley at Juniper Networks, a Fortune 500 technology company leading the industry’s efforts to address human trafficking, and host of the 2011 Global Forum.

Join us as we collaborate to find innovative solutions to the root causes of human trafficking and mobilize a new wave of freedom fighters to bring justice to the bottom billion.
