Vivienne Harr, Age 8, Sells Lemonade in Times Square for Freedom
Vivienne Harr, the 8-year-old who captured the hearts of people around the world by “making a stand” against child slavery at her lemonade stand for 173 straight days will “make a stand” in the heart of Times Square today. She will serve her lemonade to warm the hearts of holiday shoppers and give all money to charity. All funds raised will support Not For Sale and our work around the world.
Vivienne’s “stand” started 173 days ago after seeing a photo of two child slaves in Nepal carrying rocks strapped across their heads, and she decided to take action against it. Her story has been featured on CBS News, Yahoo News, The Huffington Post, The BBC World News, the season premiere of The Jeff Probst Show and media from the Netherlands to Australia. She has over 100,000 social media followers and has raised over $50,000 for Not For Sale.
Live coverage of Vivienne’s historic stand will be provided via Twitter, Facebook and YouTube with lemonade customers celebrated on Instagram.
“Compassion is not compassion without action,” said Vivienne.
