Not For Sale Store Unveils Revamped Free2Rock
Not For Sale kick-started the newly revamped Free2Rock T-shirt campaign today.
Each month, for two weeks only, the Not For Sale Store will reveal a limited-edition T-shirt, designed by a different band or celebrity and available only through the store. Each shirt’s proceeds will help Not For Sale reach its fundraising goal for a specific project.
Rising stars Tenth Avenue North officially launched the new campaign today by designing and unveiling the first Free2Rock T-shirt, only available from today until Wednesday, January 25th, for $24.
The Christian rock band hopes their T-shirt will help raise $10,000 for Not For Sale’s upcoming Amsterdam project. In 2012, Not For Sale is planning to develop a new catering project in the Netherlands, employing survivors of human trafficking to distribute hot meals to the women in the windows of the capital’s red light district. The organization hopes to grow this initiative next year and, eventually, to expand it into a corporate catering service.
The Tenth Avenue North shirts are emblazoned with symbolic empty windows and street lanterns representing the red light district, raising awareness about sex slavery in Amsterdam. However, Free2Rock is about much more than awareness as it will directly support Not For Sale’s platforms and will provide abolitionists with an easy way to take action against modern slavery.
100% of every Free2Rock purchase supports Not For Sale’s work to fight slavery. This month, twelve dollars from every shirt sale will go directly to Not For Sale’s Amsterdam project. The other half of the proceeds will go to Not For Sale’s partner factory in El Salvador, which will manufacture, print, package, and ship all of the Free2Rock T-shirts. Not For Sale works with this factory to employ and to empower single mothers, giving jobs to people at risk of trafficking and supporting their communities.
For the past year, Not For Sale has been employing this factory to create customizable athletic apparel, which is available to order via the Not For Sale Store.
