Take Action Now: Call Your Senator to Help Survivors

Time is running out for the Trafficking Victims Protection Act

Use Your voice to make a difference!

The legislative calendar is in its final weeks. If Congress doesn’t pass the TVPA, programs that help survivors reclaim their lives will lose valuable resources and funding. 31 Senators have signed on as co-sponsors.
However, we need YOUR help in ensuring the legislation is passed!

This summer Senators Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), Scott Brown (R-Mass.) and John Kerry (D-Mass.) introduced federal legislation that will reauthorize the historic piece of legislation, which has enhanced the government’s efforts to combat human trafficking in the United States and abroad.

The bipartisan bill (S. 1301) will extend the authorization of the current law until 2015, and improve cooperation among federal agencies providing victim services.

The bill may come to a vote soon and we need all the support we can get. To find out who is your Senator click here.

Call your Senator today and ask them to co-sponsor S.1301

Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121
and ask to be connected to your Senator.
Tell them your town and state and say:
“It is important to the people of this state that we reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act this year. I would like to ask the Senator to please sign on as a co-sponsor to Senate bill 1301 to help ensure the passage of this very important piece of legislation”.

Not For Sale is a member of the The Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST) who supports the reauthorization of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2011.
