In 2010, a small group of individuals will be selected to participate in the very first Not For Sale Fellowship: a full-time, all-intensive program in which they will work to end modern-day slavery. Are you interested in being among them?

NFS Fellows will advance their education on the issue of human trafficking, gaining invaluable work experience through an intrinsic role in the modern-day abolitionist movement. They will work side-by-side national staff to enhance key programs, initiatives, and platforms central to the Not For Sale Campaign.

Based just outside the city of San Francisco, NFS Fellows will live and work from the stunning shoreline of Half Moon Bay, CA.156jpg

Two Sessions of the Fellowship program are scheduled for 2010:

January 4th – June 25th
July 1st – December 17th

Each Fellow will be placed in a select position specific to their skill-set, education, and passions. Over the course of the Fellowship, they will create a portfolio of the work they accomplish. Tailored projects, research training, and one-on-one time with national staff will advance Fellows’ understanding of the anti-trafficking movement while equipping them to play a substantial role.

Applicants must be 18 years or older, fluent in English, and comfortable living in a group environment. They should be open to meeting rapid deadlines in a highly flexible work environment consisting of both independent and team settings, and come with some background knowledge on the issue of human trafficking. Fellows will be required to raise their own support for the program through the sponsorship of family and friends. Monthly costs, which include room and board, are listed on the application.

This is the first time a Fellowship has ever been offered by the Not For Sale Campaign, and national staffers are thrilled to have the partnership of this select group of individuals. 154jpg

I would love to hear more information. Thank you.

  2. Jean Boileau says:

Wonderful opportunity to curb and fight human trafficking. An estimated 1800 to 2200 persons are trafficked cross borders between Canada and the U.S. every year and here in Canada an estimated 800 are trafficked within country limits.

There is a site online that caters to the “johns” of the world with ads catering to people looking for “good paying employment”. Reading between the lines one notices that this goes beyond the true calling of the position offered.

We need to end human trafficking starting within our own backyard and globally. Slavery and trafficking are inhumane and unethical treatments of life; Let’s work together to end it.

    Trinidad and Tobago

  7. Hi CURB,

We don’t yet have this option as this will be the first round of our Fellowship and believe Fellows are best suited by being in direct contact with national staff on a day-to-day basis.
