October 21: Effective mobilization and collaboration
Every individual must play an active role in creating a world completely free of human trafficking. Day one will provide attendees with opportunities to learn and explore different models being deployed to mobilize individuals in the fight against trafficking. Collective and collaborative approaches have a far greater impact than individual efforts.
Mobilization:
Leaders representing businesses, faith institutions, community groups, and students will showcase their work and impact on human trafficking. These innovative leaders will share their insights and provide participants with a deeper understanding on how they to can mobilize their own communities. During morning breakout sessions attendees will be able to network with others from similar social spheres or communities.
October 22: Innovation and Thought Leadership
Day two provides attendees with both in-depth workshops and rich thought leadership exploring how creative approaches can address trafficking and help foster a zero-tolerance future.
Over the past decade, the anti-slavery field has seen a rising tide of government action, non-profit collaboration, and societal knowledge. However, the movement as a whole has remained somewhat insulated. The anti-trafficking movement is poised for innovative thought-leadership that could infuse creative and innovative thinking to address threats for trafficking victims and ending trafficking in our lifetime.
Newsworthy Innovations
What are the most pressing threats to potential human trafficking victims? How can risk factors be effectively undermined? This plenary will discuss the pressing threats of poverty, justice, environmental degradation, and visibility.
Collaboration:
Through an incubator model Not For Sale has brought together leaders from an array of different fields (business, culture, philanthropy, and education) to identify and deploy their ideas, networks and resources to create sustainable economic change for populations vulnerable to situations of trafficking. The first day will discuss the successful impact that such collaboration can have when individuals from different social spheres collectively search for solutions to human trafficking.
Ending Human Trafficking in Our Lifetime:
What can be done that will have a substantial impact on human trafficking in the next 10 years? What progress can we make in the next 25 to end human trafficking in our lifetime? This session will explore the emerging trends that will have an impact on rates of human trafficking and our ability to combat it.
